Gauropterus fulgidus (Fabricius, 1787)
A fairly large Rove Beetle, which was discovered underneath a small log in Budby South Forest in mid-August 2009. Identification took months to confirm, due to the large number of Staphs exhibiting similar structure and colouration. Length 9mm.
