Empis opaca (Meigen, 1804)
Possibly less common in Nottinghamshire than some other Empididae, Empis opaca is known from Netherfield Lagoons and most recently from Dyscarr Wood near Worksop in the north of the county, where it was photographed by Pauline Bradford in June 2016 (below left) and Hills and Holes SSSI at Market Warsop in May 2017.
