Dacne rufifrons (Fabricius, 1775)
There are a number of records of this beetle across Nottinghamshire and it is more widespread than record on the distribution map would suggest. Known sites include Clumber Park, Nottingham Trent University's Brackenhurst Campus and Stoke Bardolph, where the individuals illustrated below, were all recorded from, by Nick and Samantha Brownley in early February 2026. This is a small beetle which comes in two colour forms, with the dark form believed to be the more common.
