Criorhina floccosa (Meigen, 1822)
Criorhina floccosa is one of several species which mimic Bumblebees. With Diptera being grossly under recorded in the county, it is hard to give an accurate account of its current status. The only record currently shown on the Nottinghamshire distribution map, is from Dyscarr Wood in the north of the county, where it was found by Pauline Bradford, who kindly supplied this image.
