Colymbetes fuscus
Despite being a difficult group to identify, it is still surprising that Water Beetles have been totally overlooked throughout all recording at Sherwood Forest NNR, although there is little permanent water throughout the reserve. Consequently all species found in 2009, such as the large Colymbetes fuscus, seem to be new to the NNR. This adult was found on Budby South Forest in August 2009. Length around 19mm.
