Caenorhinus mannerheimii (Hummel, 1823)
A small black weevil, but with a slightly blue sheen on closer scrutiny. Caenorhinus mannerheimii (formerly Deporaus mannerheimii) is found on Birch and is generally very similar to Deporaus betulae, though generally slimmer and more straight-sided. The one illustrated was the first Sherwood Forest NNR record since the early 1900's and was found at Sherwood Forest CP in July 2010.
