Bibio pomonae (Fabricius, 1775)
A distinctive species, of which this record and accompanying photograph of a female by Ranger Gary Joynt at the Sherwood Forest CP, seems to be the first record for the Sherwood Forest NNR. A second record followed in July 2011, when a male (below right) was taken at MV light from Clipstone Old Quarter.
