Bibio lanigerus (Meigen, 1818)
A common species at Sherwood Forest, which seems to have passed undetected in previous years. It can be abundant in heathland areas of the Sherwood Forest NNR, where the males are frequently recorded resting on grass heads and other low vegetation. The orange-legged females are similar to several other species.
