Considering
that Agriotes sputator is a common Click Beetle
and often a pest species of agricultural crops, it was
surprising to find that this seems to be the first record
for Sherwood Forest NNR. It was found on Budby South
Forest in April 2009 and is a typically early species to
appear. We found a second on Budby soon after the first
and also recorded it from underneath a stone on Warsop
Main Pit Top during the same month. Length 9mm.
