Agriotes lineatus (Linnaeus, 1767)
Agriotes lineatus is largely restricted to the southern parts of Nottinghamshire and is only regularly found at sites along the Trent Valley. Its certainly a species we looked for over many years, before eventually finding four underneath the same plank of wood lying on long grass at Holm Pierrepont in April 2020. Remarkably, a couple of days later it turned up under the loose bark of an old fallen branch at Gunthorpe Pits.
