Insect Events

Over the course of recent years, we have been asked to attend and support local events and fairs etc, which we are always willing to do wherever possible. More recently, we have started to provide talks and presentations to clubs, societies and at organised meetings.

We are also able to provide similar presentations and talks for schools, usually bringing along a selection of locally caught invertebrates (depending on season) for the children to look at or handle.

We have several events previsionally planned for the Sherwood Forest visitor centre at the moment and are awaiting their confirmation. Present dates and details are below, but these are subject to change.

Moth Night.... March 31st, 2012 .... (To be confirmed)
Location: Sherwood Forest Country Park Visitor Centre
Time: 7 - 9pm.
Join us for an evening of moth trapping in Sherwood Forest.

Glow Worm Walk .... June 9th, 2012 .... (To be confirmed)
Location: Sherwood Forest Country Park
Time: 9:15 - 11pm.
An evening walk through part of the ancient Sherwood Forest to see Glow Worms. Places are limited for this event.

Northern Coleopterists Meeting .... September, 22nd 2012
Location: Manchester Museum .... 24 Oxford Road, Manchester, M13 9PL
Time: 10am onwards
We will be doing a 30 or 45 minute presentation titled "The rediscovery and current status of Cryptocephalus coryli at Sherwood Forest NNR"
