Roesel's Bush Cricket Roeseliana roeselii (Hagenbach, 1822)
Crickets and Grasshoppers belong to the order Orthoptera and the current UK list contains around 30 species, including several known migrants or accidentals. Nottinghamshire currently has 15 species on it's list. Roesel's Bush Cricket arrived in the Nottinghamshire during 2006 and the following year was found at Collingham, Stoke Bardolph and Langford Lowfields in August 2007. It is now widespread over most of Nottinghamshire in areas of long grass. The high-pitched buzzing sound made by the male is difficult to hear.
