Polietes lardarius (Fabricius, 1781)
A common fly across much of the UK, but records are limited in Nottinghamshire due to the difficulty in Diptera identification. Polietes lardarius is often strongly attracted to Stinkhorn fungi, but will be found around dung in well vegetated habitats. Presumably a fly of more rural locations.
