Phaonia errans (Meigen, 1826)
One of many, very similar Phaonias which can be encountered on fine days during the late Summer and Autumn, Phaonia errans is another example of how little we know about the distribution of our Dipterous (Flies) fauna in Nottinghamshire. There are few modern (post 1960's) published records and just the one historical record from Sherwood Forest in 1914.
