Orchestes alni (Linnaeus, 1758)
A small Weevil with the ability to jump well when needed. Despite the name Orchestes alni is actually found on Elm, the larvae producing a blotch mine as it mines the leaves. It appears to have declined in Nottinghamshire and all but one of the county's records are historical and from the south of the county. To date (2018) there appears to have been just a single modern Nottinghamshire record, when it was recorded by Adrian Dutton at Shelford in 2004.
