Neoitamus cyanurus
A common robberfly, Neoitamus cyanurus is more often called the Common Awl Robberfly. Robberflies are widespread across much of Nottinghamshire, appearing in a variety of habitats, but as with all flies, their identification is not always easy. This Neoitamus cyanurus was photographed at Sherwood Forest CP at the end of May 2012 and was delightfully confiding.
