Despite the
fact that this is a commonly occurring species around
Cattle, there are very few modern Nottinghamshire records
despite a wealth of records dating back to the early part
of the 1900's. Such is the lack of effort devoted to
recording our Dipterous fauna, we presently know
virtually nothing about the current distribution of most
species. However, Morellia simplex is still
likely to be widespread around the more rural areas of
the county, but of course there are several other species
making identification difficult. |
