Malthodes minimus (Linnaeus, 1758)
This diminutive beetle, could be very easily mistaken for a tiny parasitic wasp at first glance, yet is actually a Soldier Beetle (Cantharidae) Measuring little more than 4mm long, this Malthodes minimus turned up whilst beating Hawthorns on Penny Pasture Common in late June 2010.
