Lucilia ampullacea (Villeneuve, 1922)
One of numerous so called 'Greenbottle' Flies, Lucilia ampullacea is a shade-loving species, which will often retain a bluish colouration, although this is by no means a gaurantee of identity. It can however, be used as an indicator to suspecting you have L.ampullacea, from any of the other Lucilias. Probably quite widespread in Nottinghamshire woodlands, but the lack of interest in Calliphoridae, means there are few modern records.
