Gastrophysa polygoni (Linnaeus, 1758)
A small and colourful leaf beetle measuring no more than 5mm in length, with metallic blue/green wing cases and head. The pronotum is red. Gastrophysa polygoni feeds on the leaves of various Polygonum sp. Possibly under-recorded in Nottinghamshire, but widespread and usually found in locations where the hostplant grows, such as field edges etc.
