Exorista rustica (Fallén, 1810)
Possibly more widespread in Nottinghamshire than records would suggest, Exorista rustica flies throughout much of the Summer months and into early Autumn. As with all Diptera, there are other species to bear in mind when attempting any identification. The one illustrated, was found along a sunny woodland edge at Clipstone Old Quarter in early October 2016.
