Eustalomyia hilaris (Fallén, 1823)
An uncommon, though possibly under-recorded species, anywhere north of a line through The Wash and the Severn Estuary, with the NBN Atlas map showing few records. Based on the NBN map, this would seem to be Nottinghamshire's first record of Eustalomyia hilaris, which was recorded on a fallen veteran Oak at Clipstone Old Quarter in early August 2024. The dorsal markings on the thorax of Eustalomyia hilaris, do allow identification in the field.
