Dromius angustus (Brullé, 1834)
A scarce ground beetle (Carabidae) with an eastern UK distribution, that favours Pine plantations. With there still being large areas of Pine in the Sherwood Forest NNR, it was still surprising to find that this represented the first ever record. It was found on the southern edge of Budby South Forest, where it meets the Sherwood Forest CP. It seems likely that Dromius angustus has benefited from the extensive planting of Pines over the years.
