Cymatia coleoptrata (Fabricius, 1777)
This is a small species measuring just 3-4mm in length. Uncommon in Nottinghamshire, but if netted, this could easily be mistaken for a nymph of one of the larger Sigara species. Usuall found in well vegetated ponds and ditches, this one was netted from such a location on Budby South Forest in early September 2020, with the pond being totaly covered with Duckweed.
