Bembidion dentellum
A small ground beetle, but quite large for a Bembidion (5mm this one measured). Bembidion dentellum is widespread across the UK, favouring damp areas or near water. This one was found underneath the moss covered bark of a Willow log on the banks of the River Meden at Gleadthorpe near Market Warsop in March 2010. The same log contained dozens of other ground beetles, but this was the only B. dentellum we found.
