Attagenus pellio (Linnaeus, 1758)
A small Dermestid (Carpet and Hide Beetles) which is often found on flowers. This Attagenus pellio was found in a Mansfield garden in late June 2010. Like several other species, this one is often classed as a pest and would presumably be common, yet this was the first time we had recorded it. There are just two Sherwood Forest NNR records, one historical and a more recnet 2006 record (Dutton, A. and Dutton, C.)
