Aneurus avenius (Dufour, 1833)
A small Flatbug which occurs under bark and has a less common and more patchy distribution across the UK, than Nottinghamshire's other Flatbug Aradus depressus (Fabricius, 1794). There are currently no records of Aneurus avenius from VC56 Nottinghamshire and the photographs supplied by Tim Sexton, are of an individual found at Rutland Water in 2021. Recent records from South Lincolnshire, would suggest that this species, is in Nottinghamshire and waiting to be found.
