Hypositticus pubescens (Fabricius, 1775)
Found on Budby South Forest in mid-September 2009, this Hypositticus pubescens (formerly Sitticus pubescens) turned out to be the first Sherwood NNR record since the Reserve's only other record in 1912. This surprised us, as this species is considered to be common around houses and roofs etc. Away from an urban habitat, H. pubescens prefers fence posts, exactly the site where this one was discovered.
