Philodromus collinus (C.L.Koch, 1835)
A spider usually found on Pine trees growing in heathland, but not totally restricted to this habitat across parts of the southern UK. Although most Nottinghamshire records have come from the Budby South Forest area, Philodromus collinus has also been recorded from Rainworth Heath and from Juniper growing at The Patchills in Mansfield. As with all Philodromus, any abdominal markings show variability within species, so care has to be taken with identification and they cannot really be done with any certainty from photographs.
