Pardosa monticola (Clerck, 1757)
This is an uncommon spider at Sherwood Forest, this being the first record since historical times. It was found on Budby South Forest in April 2010. Quite a distinctive species, but there are a couple of pitfalls in identification, so one has to check carefully and cannot really go on visual features alone.
