Parasteatoda simulans (Thorell, 1875)
Parasteatoda simulans is very similar to Nottinghamshire's other Parasteatoda species, but is usually found on shrubs and low foliage, often in shadier parts of woodland, but it is not restricted to this habitat type. There are several widely scattered records we know of for the county, but it was only recently found at Sherwood Forest, where we beat several specimens off both Yew and Holly bushes growing under Oaks.
