Neriene montana (Clerck, 1757)
A common spider which makes a sheet web to catch prey. Regularly found in the vicinity of houses and on vegetation. Neriene montana should be widespread in Nottinghamshire. The female in the top two photographed was found under loose bark at Sherwood Forest CP in February 2010 and was the first for Sherwood. The spider in the lower photographs was one of many outside our house in Market Warsop in September 2009.
