Micaria micans (Blackwall, 1858)
A small but well marked spider, found at ground level in a variety of habitats, but probably with a preference for open, sandy sites. The example shown, was recorded from the former Calverton Colliery site by Nick and Samantha Brownley in April 2024, after having recorded this species a week or so earlier in the same month from Clumber Park.

In Nottinghamshire, Micaria micans is currently rare, but certainly overlooked among the similar Micaria pulicaria. The key ID feature of the dark stripe on the upperside of the rear femur of M. micans, as shown in the photographs.
