Metellina segmentata (Clerck, 1757)
An abundant orb weaver, of all sites and including urban gardens, where the web is found amongst low vegetation. These females were photographed at Sherwood Forest CP and Market Warsop in September 2017 and illustrate the range in abdominal colouration/markings, which are exhibited by this spider.
