Larinioides cornutus (Clerck, 1757)
A small orb weaving species, which seems common at Sherwood and around Eakring Flash. The web is often found on low vegetation and grasses. There is some variation in abdominal markings, most especially the ground colour, but the peach coloured individual in the middle photographs, has proved to be an exceptional example. This strong colouration may well be down to age. The male is shown in the lower two photographs.
