Alopecosa barbipes (Sundevall, 1833)
This female Alopecosa barbipes turned out to be the first Sherwood Forest NNR record. It was found on Budby South Forest in September 2009 and also at Warsop Main Pit Top, where it was found on a sunny, south-facing bank and where several females had constructed their burrows. The spider has a wide distribution across the UK, but is generally a fairly local species.
