Tychus niger (Paykull, 1800)
This is a minute Rove Beetle (Staphylinidae) with a size of around 1.5mm, but when these photographs were taken, did seem a little generous and it appeared smaller. Found by seiving Pine needle litter underneath some old Pines at Lambley Cemetery in March 2018, the only modern record we know of for Nottinghamshire, was from Treswell Wood in 1986 (Marsh, B.). There is a historical record for Sherwood Forest.
