Stenus ater
(Mannerheim, 1830) |
||
| Seemingly rare in the UK, with relatively few records and many of these are from coastal localities. The one illustrated, was found in a moss sample taken from the side of a body of water on Warsop Main Pit Top in April 2020. For a Stenus, it was notably large (7mm) and for a time, especially compliant when being photographed, before it was keyed out and identified. There are believed to be no other Nottinghamshire records. | ||
