Stenopterapion intermedium (Eppelsheim, 1875)
Yet another species which was recorded new to Nottinghamshire from survey work at Rainworth's former Rufford Colliery, carried out by Tim Sexton in the Summer of 2020. Stenopterapion intermedium has a very strange UK distribution. It is rare, with confirmed records coming from three coastal sites in the south-east, from Shropshire (per NBN Atlas) and an unconfirmed record from Leicestershire. The hostplant is Common Sainfoin Onobrychis viciifolia. Once again, thanks go to Tim for providing the accompanying photograph.
