Yet another species which was recorded new to Nottinghamshire from
survey work at Rainworth's former Rufford Colliery, carried out by Tim
Sexton in the Summer of 2020. Stenopterapion intermedium has a
very strange UK distribution. It is rare, with confirmed records coming
from three coastal sites in the south-east, from Shropshire
(per NBN Atlas) and an unconfirmed
record from Leicestershire. The hostplant is Common Sainfoin
Onobrychis viciifolia. Once again, thanks go to Tim for providing
the accompanying photograph. |
