Sphecodes gibbus (Linnaeus, 1758)
Apparently uncommon in Nottinghamshire on the basis of the records we have, but Hymenoptera is still little studied in the county. Sphecodes gibbus is sometimes called the Dark-winged Blood Bee, but all Sphecodes are diificult (if not impossible) to accurately determine by photographs alone. There are recent records from Attenborough NR, Oak Tree Heath and Oakfield Lane, Market Warsop.
