Sciara hemerobioides (Scopoli, 1763)
The Sciaridae (Fungus Gnats) are a challenge to identify and consequently, are often left well alone by many entomologists. Across the UK, Sciara hemerobioides seems to be the most widespread and frequently reported, but there are few recent records from Nottinghamshire. It is regularly to be found on Umbellifers during the Summer months.
