This fly is something of an unknown quantity in Nottinghamshire in recent decades, Scathophaga inquinata will almost certainly be more widespread than our sparsely populated map would indicate. As with many Diptera families, there are numerous similar species, which usually require a specimen under the microscope to determine to species level. | ||
