Rhinoncus perpendicularis (Reich, 1797)
This is a small Weevil, which is probably confined to wetland sites where its host plant Persicaria amphibia (Amphibious Bistort among a range of common names) grows. There is an historical record of Rhinoncus perpendicularis for Gunthorpe, but the only modern record we are aware of is from Attenborough NR, where it was recorded by reserve manager Tim Sexton in July 2016. Our thanks go to Tim, for once again providing us with his high standard of photographs.
