Psammoecus bipunctatus (Fabricius, 1792)
Found tucked with Bulrush leaves at Eakring Flash in early March 2014 and late February 2015, we can currently find no records for this tiny (2.5-3mm) beetle in Nottinghamshire. If Psammoecus bipunctatus occurs at a small site such as Eakring Flash, then it should really be widespread at many Trent Valley locations. Males are smaller than females and less well marked.
