Protocalliphora azurea (Fallén, 1817)
This is a distinctly blue coloured Calliphorid, which is well recorded from Nottinghamshire, yet virtually all known records date back to before 1925. There is a 1968 record of Protocalliphora azurea on the NBN Gateway from SK54 (White, O.S.), but apparently no records more recent than that, other than those we have recorded in recent years. The female is shown in the photographs, recorded at Lambley Cemetery in early April and near Church Warsop in May 2017.
