Plegaderus dissectus (Erichson, 1839)
A very tiny beetle and a difficult find in the field. With a length of around 1.5mm, this is not surprisingly an uncommon species to come across. It's found in amongst the detritus under bark and is very much restricted to both Sherwood Forest and Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire, with an odd record from Treswell Wood. The ones illustrated below, were found at Clumber Park by Nick and Samantha Brownley, who very kindly supplied the top photographs for inclusion here.
