Pipiza luteitarsis (Zetterstedt, 1843)
A dark hoverfly, but often with two yellow patches on the second abdominal section (Tergite). There are several other Pipiza species, which offer some of the most difficult to identify. Pipiza luteitarsis can be identified in the field and from photographs, by the yellow tarsi on both front and middle legs. Photographed at Nettleworth Manor in August 2014.
