Oxyporus rufus (Linnaeus, 1758)
This impressive Rove Beetle has a distinctly south-eastern distribution in the UK. In Nottinghamshire, there are very few modern records, with records from Sherwood Forest CP in 1978 (Hunter, F.A.) and one found and photographed by Martin Warne below, which was found at the Idle Valley NR in July 2017.
