Oulema duftschmidi (Redtenbacher, 1874)
Described as a pest species by some authorities, this beautiful leaf beetle seems common in the Sherwood Forest area of the county. With a length of around 6mm, Oulema duftschmidi (was Oulema rufocyanea until recently) feeds on grasses and cereal crops and is often found along grassy, well vegetated field edges throughout Nottinghamshire. Overwinters as an adult in grass tussocks, leaf litter etc.
