Omonadus bifasciatus (Rossi, 1792)
Another typically small and very active member of the Anthicidae family, with no previous Nottinghamshire records prior to this one turning up in a large pile of very wet woodchippings at Ransom Wood in November 2023 (Pendleton, T.A.). There are a number of similar species known from the county, and all are fairly typical of rotting vegetation. They regularly turn up (often in good numbers) in samples taken from manure heaps and occasionally from leaf litter, but members of this family, can be expected to occur almost anywhere.
